July 4th

From a historical perspective, the Fourth of July commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, when the thirteen American colonies formally declared their separation from British rule. Though the Continental Congress actually voted for independence on July 2, the finalized document was approved and dated July 4, marking the birth of the United States and laying the foundation for a national tradition of celebration, reflection, and civic pride.
