Our Mission
Silver Lake Preparatory School is built on the foundations of educational psychology and decades of academic experience. Our approach is deeply rooted in the theory of multiple intelligences, inspired by the groundbreaking research of Professor Howard Gardner at Harvard University. We embrace the truth that no two students learn the same way — and therefore, education must be flexible, positive, and deeply attuned to individual differences.
At Silver Lake, we believe students learn best not through rote memorization, but through exploration, inquiry, reflection, and creativity. We aim to invigorate young minds, guiding them to discover the deeper meanings behind what they learn and encouraging them to think critically and imaginatively. Challenges are never viewed as failures but as opportunities for growth, supported by a philosophy of positive feedback and emotional resilience. As the ancient Chinese symbol for catastrophe also signifies opportunity, we teach our students to see obstacles as stepping stones to success.
We also recognize that a critical — and often overlooked — component of education is the active partnership with parents. Parents play an essential role in teaching life’s fundamental skills, and we work hand-in-hand with families to complete the circle of learning: from home to school, to the community, and back home again. By creating a pro-social learning environment, we extend learning beyond the classroom and into everyday life.
At Silver Lake Preparatory School, we remove the pain often associated with education and replace it with joyful academic rigor, emotional intelligence, and genuine personal growth. We inspire students not just to attend school — but to want to be here, excited to learn, to connect, and to thrive.
